Breaking Bread:Raphael Saadiq

Always creating a unique bridge between the ancient and the modern, Raphael Saadiq's newest album "Stone Rollin" has officially been released and as always, we've attached the standout tracks that are currently itsnotyouitsme favorites.

In case you may have forgotten kiddas, Raphael is a Grammy Award winning producer, songwriter and singer. He's used his multi-talented musicianship skills on other artists including the man himself, Mick Jagger.

With a new single entitled, "Radio", which you can view for your pleasure right below, features one of many similar sounding tracks feeding a throwback feel with music elements deriving from early rock n' roll blues/soul/pop/alternative melodies.

Always demonstrating a happy-go-lucky appeal to his musique, even though at times his lyrics may depict quite the contrary, one things most certain, an electric upbeat sound like his previous album, "The Way I See It", solidifies this gentleman's musical position as one of the greateast of his generation.

Raphael's musique has a timeless quality feel to it. The rousing sounds of a big-band horn section or the dreamy like sounds when he wails in his falsetto range, send me in a state of musical combustion every time. I may have recently been penned the 22nd century golden ear and eye for both musique and fashion by those I adore and admire like industry insiders and fans alike, but it is this man featured that holds the golden finger which gives me the fuel to keep this vehicle burning of pure heart and soul.

Breaking Bread: The Kills

The Kills truly define 'Rock Musique' in the 21st century era, a term often used to loosely in a industry where labels are sometimes unrelated to the actual form of musical genre. It's been three years since the bands album "Midnight Boom" was released because of a brief side project lead singer Alison Mosshart was involved in.

You may remember kiddas, she joined Jack White on his now disbanded group "The Dead Weather". After that project folded, The Kills entered a rebirth with the new album entitled "Blood Pressures". The record was produced by the duo’s British guitarist Jamie Hince himself.

The first single, "Satellite", sounds more introverted and centers around primarily gritty guitar rifts and blues infected instruments. Sounding as aggressive like when they first released their debut album, one important key factor remains, the musique gives more attitude and sounds more self-assured than ever.

As always, we've attached not only the first single's video "Satellite" but our choices as the standout tracks on the just released 4th album "Blood Pressures". Dig it below kiddas.

Breaking Bread: Meet I Blame Coco

Blame Coco are a group founded by a conceptualized five-piece band fronted by one Coco Sumner who happens to be the daughter of Rock legend Sting. I Blame Coco's first album, "The Constant" came out in the UK on November 8th 2010.

I Blame Coco has not only supported fellow British act La Roux on her UK tour but featured guest vocals on the Miike Snow tune, "Animal". The track took practically a year until it garnered attention and a following soon after. So perhaps I Blame Coco will have the same luck?

Either way, this electro-pop injected debut album has an individual craftsmanship with its melodical structures and arousing lyrics. It is said that her distinct voice engaged thee attention of Swedish producer Klas Ahlund (Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Robyn) and the rest is like they say, history! Dig it below kiddas!

Breaking Bread: Meet Maggie Eckford

We were pleasantly surprised to hear more astounding music from Indie/Pop/Folk singer-songwriter Maggie Eckford, after hearing her upbeat and happily infectious tune 'For What It's Worth'.

Maggie describes her influences as Ray Lamontagne, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bon Iver, Angus and Julia Stone, Kings of Leon, and Feist. Well dang! Now that's a list of influences. But we must say, she is an artist all her own even at this early stage of her career. We find her adorably wonderful in lyrics, melody and persona. Like we always say, what should always matter most, the music.

I am a southern girl from Mississippi. I've been writing songs since I was about 14 years old. I picked up my life and moved to Sydney, Australia about 2 years ago to study music and write. It turns out that a change of scenery is just what I needed. I began writing and playing small shows wherever I could, and it wasn't long before I was introduced to a Canadian producer who offered to help produce my first album. I flew to the snowy Canadian countryside in January 2010, and in May released my debut album "for what it's worth" on iTunes. The album has since then been very successful, and I have been amazed at the response. Now that I'm back on American soil, I am happy to say that I am able to do what I love for a living. I have landed several placement deals since I returned, including a deal with Apple as well as multiple Canadian tv series. I am currently writing for my next album, which should be released in the spring or summer of this year.

Meet Maggie Eckford below!
