With a perfect blend of personalities, and a fun and interesting concept, the blind vocal competition show 'The Voice' premiered to very strong ratings even beating out the Fox powerhouse phenom Glee,

NBC’s hotly anticipated and heavily promoted talent show ‘The Voice’ premiered in the US last night and ratings were on fire! The show attracted over 11.4 million viewers during the first hour and increased in its second hour to a very impressive 12.2 million viewers. These numbers also beat out popular TV show ‘Glee’ by over 2.8 million viewers. The Carson Daly hosted show consists of judges Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green, and Blake Shelton going through a “blind auditions” process so that vocals are the only quality that gets judged. All coaches battle it out for the singers to join their teams hoping that they can find the next big recording artist. The winner will then snag a recording contract with Universal Republic.

Christina also sat down with The Tonight show host Jay Leno to discuss 'The Voice', and the nitty gritty on her personal life in which she laughs off the whole debacle, her Gay Walk of Fame induction, Easter with her son and briefly lets out that shes already working on a new album.

Watch the premiere episode below and Christina's Tonight show interview and let us know if you'll continue hearing 'The Voice'.

NBC's "The Voice"

Christina Aguilera gets together with her fellow coaches in a new promotional video for their upcoming competition show, "The Voice" airing on NBC in April.

Christina gets picture perfect alongside country musician Blake Shelton, R&B/Hip-hop star Cee-Lo Green, and pop/rock singer Adam Levine as the foursome join Carson Daly who will take the reins as host.

Again, i'm ecstatic to see that America's finally getting back to what should always matter the most, the Musique. Besides all the misleading and nonfactual reports in recent headlines, pop/soul icon singer, Christina Aguilera had this to say, "We get to concentrate on nothing but the voice". The shows premise will not allow the judges to see the performer, instead the auditions will solely be based on the competitors vocal ability alone. Hence the name of the show, "The Voice".

Dig the show when it hits TV airwaves everywhere on April 26 at 9/8c on NBC.
