Have A Very Merry Birthday Raphael Saadiq!!!
Raphael Saadiq is not only a singer, songwriter and record producer but Raphael has been a standard for ol'school R&B since his early days with the group Tony! Toni! Toné! He's produced and written songs for such artists as D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige, and John Legend.
Raphael Saadiq's latest critically acclaimed album, "The Way I See It", is not only a classic-favorite of mine, but it goes to show how organic and beautifully constructed an album can be amidst the musique industry and its condition it was under in those times (auto-tune and over produced records were the name of the game.) Released on September 16, 2008. It featured artists Stevie Wonder, Joss Stone and Jay-Z. This well deserved attention garnered the album 3 Grammy Award Nominations and voted Best Album on iTunes of 2008. For that, we salute you Mister Saadiq!
"Billboard Q&A: Raphael Saadiq" - "The Way I See It".
"Sure Hope You Mean It" (Later Live...with Jools Holland).
Now it's time to get back to the origin of things!
