Joseph Gordon-Levitt Is Dapper-Dandy In The Pages Of Elle Magazine!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks dapper-dandy in the new pages of Elle magazine where they've labeled him, their “Elle Man” of the year!


On creating the production company HitRecord.org... “Nobody wanted to hire me - I can see where they wouldn’t want the kid from 3rd Rock From the Sun. I came to the conclusion, I’m not going to wait for somebody to tell me that I’m allowed to be creative. The metaphor of pushing that red button sort of became my symbol for that kind of self-started creativity.”

Independent filmmaker, Gregg Araki, who worked with Joseph on his critically acclaimed film, "Mysterious Skin" said this about the dreamy-eyed actor...“It’s great when younger actors are trying to do things besides be a movie star and drive fancy cars and go to clubs,” he says. “Joe’s a creative artist; he has a thirst for knowledge and art and experience. He’s not living a superficial life.”

50/50 co-star Bryce Dallas Howard, on Joseph...“My dad [director Ron Howard] said Tom Hanks always talked about equipoise. It’s total relaxation and complete focus at the same time. That’s the biggest struggle for an actor - not to be focused but amped up, or relaxed and sloppy. Joe’s relaxed and hyper-present always.”

Wednesday Adams, oop I mean, Christina Ricci, recently opened up to Elle magazine about her adoration of everything fabulous fashion had to offer during the 1960's! The Pan Am actress, in the photo opt above is strutting a bra and panties created by Dolce&Gabbana. The undergarments were finished with a yummy looking Balmain jacket.

For all you dedicated and beautiful readers, you must know by now that our aesthetic is primarily manifested and influenced with a 1960s retro-mod zing!

“My mother was a model in the ’60s, and I grew up looking at her photographs and tear sheets. That sleek mod aesthetic - the shape, the length - defined my idea of what a woman should look like.”

Emma Stone Looks Electrifying!

Emma Stone looks ravishing in this yellow frock designed by Versace. It's made of ostrich feather's and goes perfect with the gorgeous Lanvin necklace on the new issue of Elle magazine’s July 2011 edition.

On having braces and wearing glasses while growing up... “And I sucked my thumb until I was 11, so I had this expander in. I was a good-looking kid. I never felt, like, dorky. I was just like, ‘Yup, these are my braces. I’ve had them forever.’”

On not being recognized as easily in public with her new look... “I mean, I haven’t been around very long. I can’t expect everyone to have seen The House Bunny. Oh God. I am having such waves of internal embarrassment, which now I’m admitting on a tape recorder. This is so one of the things I should keep in my head.”



On taking up baking in part to control her nervous energy... “It’s very controlled. You know, if you put in the same amount of whatever is in the recipe, it will come out all right.”

On whether celebrity relationships have a shorter shelf life... “I don’t think that’s true. Maybe. But there’s a fair amount that do work….I’m optimistic.”

On her career... “It’s so funny how different life could have been. I went to so many auditions. I remember my audition for Heroes. I went in right after Hayden Panettiere. Now here we are in this rented house. It feels like it just happened.

On wanting to be believable in her roles... “I like to look like a person. It drives me crazy when you see women in movies playing teachers, and they have biceps. It totally takes me out of the movie. I start thinking, Wow, that actress playing this part really looks great!”

On how her career has grown... “These past two years, I’ve stopped having to remind myself to be present, which has been the greatest gift. Because I know it’s so fleeting. I’ll kick my ass later on if I don’t enjoy it right now. But it does make you realize that so much of the joy of it is the journey. The struggle is such a lovely part of it.”

Rachel McAdams Is Truly An Ol' Soul

Star of the new upcoming Woody Allen film, "Midnight in Paris ", the gracious and always luscious Rachel McAdams has stolen our romantic hearts in films such as 'The Lucky Ones', 'Wedding Crashers', and of course the classic, 'The Notebook'. Now she's taking a bite out of a Woodie Allen film and she's covering the pages of this month's Elle Magazine and spilling all the beans.

On working with Owen Wilson...“It’s definitely a different dynamic from the last time we were together. It wasn’t as fun being mean. I love that Woody likes good guys to be good guys and bad guys to be bad guys. Owen seemed to respond really well when I was a really bad guy.”

On her role in Mean Girls...“With Mean Girls, I originally auditioned for the part that Lindsay Lohan played. I wouldn’t have seen myself playing Regina at all. But when I read the script, I thought, Oh, this part is way more fun; I wonder who will play that.…”

On being a romantic..."I am. When Billie Holiday comes on, I can’t help but be transported—and I’m sure it wasn’t as romantic then at all—but that’s the wonderful part of my job: dressing up and walking down the street in New York or Toronto, pretending I’m in the ’40s."
