Have A Very Merry Birthday Mister Warren Beatty!!!

Old Hollywood Legend Warren Beatty was born today, on March 30 in 1937. If you are unfamiliar with his repertoire as an American actor, producer, screenwriter and director than all you need to know is to pick-up the very first film he made under Elia Kazan's direction and opposite Natalie Wood in "Splendor in the Grass". The movie was and still is gold. A definite favorite in my film archive.

Later, he achieved critical acclaim and power as a producer and star of "Bonnie and Clyde" in 1967. Which was nominated for 10 Academy Awards. Because of his work on Bonnie and Clyde, Beatty is generally regarded as the precursor of the New Hollywood generation, which included such filmmakers as Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Martin Scorsese.

Then in 1990, he bounced back when he produced, directed and starred in the saucy film, which as a young lad I'd seen over a hundred times, "Dick Tracy". He played perfectly as the comic strip character title Dick. The film was one of the highest grossers of that year and also the highest-grossing film in Beatty's career to date. Congrats Warren on your special day.
