The Beatles On An Island
The summer of 1967 brought the fab four aka The Beatles, to a travelling frenzy surrounding the Greek Isles. The exact date was July of 1967, and the four friends along with their entourage arrived to Athens, Greece with an explorers type of mentality. Also with thee intention of purchasing an island off the Aegean Sea located in the Mediterranean Sea.
The concept was conceived by John Lennon who thought the idea of such an investment would manifest The Beatles' living habitation into a groovy and positive one.
The thougth might of succeeded its actual reality. Alas, it never happened but one good thing came of all this; John, Paul, Ringo and Georges' island excursions were tracked and filmed for their video for their tune, "Baby, You're a Rich Man".
Their psychedelic prints weren't left far behind though. In the photo above and in the video clip alone, you can see tunic tops, festive ethnic flowy trousers and hats along with vests and neck pieces were summer staple for the fab four.
