Gunter Sachs Will Always Be Remembered

Oh Mister Gunter Sachs, what can I say that hasn't already been documented. His thrilling wedding proposal to French bombshell legend Brigitte Bardot, set the standard for all hopeless romantics out there. As the story goes, Sachs threw a bunch of beautiful roses over Miss Bardot's home estate in St.Tropez in the summer of July 14th of 1966.

But lets quickly get back to why Gunter Sachs became a well-respected artist during the 1960's and 70's. He was very familiar to those as a German photographer, a documentary film-maker and author. Not only was he as sharp as a knife behind the lens, but he was also a fashion icon in his own right during the late 60's and 70s. Always strutting a relaxed yet very polished look, Gunter set the style for keeping everything small in detail while adding that much needed pizazz to an otherwise drab outfit. In other words, opting for small adjustments sometimes make a big difference.

Such is the case above with Gunter Sachs' paisley tie which goes along well with his navy blue blazer and light colored trousers. He along with the likes of Alain Delon, taught me that sometimes a small detail can spice up a very classic ensemble in a way that expresses your personality. He recently passed away on May 7 of this year. We salute you Mister Sachs for everything beautiful you left behind. R.I.P...thanks for everything.
